Keep a copy of your original. Exported images do not retain the original metadata. Animated images are flattened to a single still frame. Compression results depend on the source image and your browser.
An image may already be highly compressed. Re-encoding it, changing its format or preserving transparency can increase the size. The result panel shows the actual change; try lower quality or smaller dimensions.
Choose WebP to preserve transparency. JPG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white.
JPG and WebP use lossy compression here. Lower quality generally gives smaller files with more visible changes. The quality setting is a browser encoder hint, not a guaranteed percentage of the original quality.
