Getting started

What is ClearPixel Tools?

ClearPixel Tools brings together free image, PDF and design tools for everyday tasks, from editing photos to organising documents and choosing colours.

How do I find the right tool?

Open Image Tools, PDF Tools or Design Tools in the navigation, then choose the tool that matches your task. Each tool page explains its supported files and controls.

Do I need an account?

No. You can use ClearPixel Tools without creating an account or signing in.

Free access

Do I need a paid subscription?

No. ClearPixel Tools is free to use without subscriptions or paid packages.

Does ClearPixel add a watermark?

We do not add ClearPixel branding or watermarks to your results. Adding your own watermark is a separate editing feature.

Using the website

Can I use ClearPixel Tools on my phone?

The website is designed for phones, tablets and computers. On smaller screens, tap the menu button to open the tool categories, then tap a category to expand its list.

Which file formats and sizes are supported?

Supported formats and size limits depend on the individual tool. Refer to the instructions on the tool’s page before selecting a file.

How does Compress Image work?

Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 15 MB and 16 megapixels. Adjust quality, dimensions and JPG or WebP output. The preview shows the real output size, which can be larger for an already compact source. Download when ready. JPG fills transparent areas with white; WebP preserves them.

How does Upscale Image work?

Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 15 MB and 4 megapixels, then choose an available 2×, 3× or 4× scale. Output is limited to 16 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per edge. Smooth photo or crisp pixel art resampling enlarges existing pixels without AI detail recovery. Download as PNG when ready.

How does Image Enhancer work?

Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 15 MB and 16 megapixels, then use Enhance or the live adjustment sliders. Compare with the original and download a PNG when ready. The tool adjusts existing pixels without AI or increasing image dimensions.

How do I preview my result?

Use Preview above Download after processing finishes. Images open in a larger viewer, PDFs have page navigation, and multi-file results include a file selector. Preview does not download your file.

Can I edit existing PDF text or use OCR?

Edit PDF adds text notes over existing pages. It does not rewrite existing text or securely redact it. PDF to Word extracts selectable text into DOCX; it does not perform OCR or preserve images, tables or the original layout. Word to PDF accepts DOCX and creates a text-based PDF using a standard Latin font.

What kind of PDF signature is created?

Sign PDF places a typed or hand-drawn visible signature. It does not create a certificate-based digital signature or verify identity. Existing digital signatures may become invalid after editing.

How do PDF passwords work?

Protect PDF uses AES-256 opening-password encryption. Unlock PDF needs a password you know; it does not recover or crack forgotten passwords. Only unlock documents you own or have permission to change.

Does PDF compression keep selectable text?

Lossless optimization keeps text and vector content but may not reduce an already compact PDF. Image compression rasterizes pages, so searchable text, forms, links and accessibility tags are lost. The result shows the actual size change.

Do the colour and code tools need a file?

Colour Picker and Image Colour Palette can use a browser-supported image. Other Design Tools use the colours, text or values you enter. QR and barcode outputs are static PNG or SVG files; scan-test them before printing. Contrast results check an opaque sRGB colour pair against WCAG thresholds, not the accessibility of an entire page.

Are background removal and HEIC export available?

No. They are not included in the current toolkit. Use the supported tools and output formats listed in the navigation.

What should I do if a page does not work?

Try refreshing the page and reopening it in an up-to-date browser. If the issue continues, contact us with the page address, your browser and device, and what happened.
